Nunchi Marine has pledged $1million to launch the “SUSS-Nunchi Marine Age Well Programme” in collaboration with Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).
Singapore has one of the most rapidly aging populations in the world. By 2030, it is estimated that one in four in Singapore will be over the age of 65. In the face of rapid aging population, SUSS has piloted Minor in Applied Ageing Studies programme to expand knowledge on Gerontology studies and to provide more career options for talents in the Health & Care sector.
The SUSS-Nunchi Marine Age Well Fund will support SUSS in three focus area:
- Research studies among Gerontology community
- Pilot of Minor in Applied Ageing Studies
- Services required to improve the quality of care and life for the elderly in Singapore
SUSS-Nunchi Marine Age Well Programme is a strategic and farsighted plan to target an impending social problem in Singapore. An aging society is a concern but we can do our part to build and shape the quality of care for our silver generation.
