Ibasho means “a place where you can feel like yourself” in Japanese.
Ibasho Project, a movement that aims to create socially integrated and sustainable communities that value our elders, was founded by Dr Emi Kiyota in 2012 with current presence in Japan, Philippines and Nepal, and will be expanding to Singapore.
With global aging trend, our elders form a significant group of today’s population. In Singapore, our Pioneer and Merderka Generation who grew up during the tumultuous years of Singapore’s founding days, are highly regarded as seniors with rich history and experience.
FaithACTS will be partnering with local organisations and communities on the Ibasho concept which aims to empower our elders by creating a community where they live in safety, comfort and dignity, and find the opportunities to contribute to their community members of all ages.
